Role in the band … Lead Vocals, Backing Vocals, Lead and Rhythm Guitars
When did you start playing music? I started playing music when I was 9. I had piano lessons with Pat McNamara. I play Guitar, Bass, Drums, Piano, Vocals.
What are your musical influences? Rock, Blues, Country, Reggae, Pop
Artists or bands that inspire you? Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Pink Floyd, Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Eric Clapton, Bob Marley, Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Elvis Presley
How did you join the band? Joe said he’d give me €50. I still haven’t got it!
Previous musical projects or bands you were part of? Supersoul Machine, Sunking, The Boogie Band, Trailertrash, Strange Brew, Pearly Whites

Meet Ricky
Paul (Ricky) Ryan, Clonmel. Role in the band … Drums
When did you start playing music? Probably 4 or 5 as my Dad is a drummer and there were always drums around. I joined the local marching/concert band (Banna Chluain Meala) when I was 10.
What are your musical influences? The Eagles,Led Zeppelin,Paul Simon,Pearl Jam,Stevie Wonder
Artists or bands that inspire you? My Dad,John Bonham,Dave Abbruzzese
How did you join the band? Four of us had a side project outside of our other bands that played a lot of Eagles songs so Joe turned us into Life in the Fast Lane by adding Brendan and Darragh!!!
Previous musical projects or bands you were part of? Supersoul Machine,Swerve, Blancatransfer, Children of the Barley
Highlight any notable live performances or concerts. Doing a few small tours in Spain
Hobbies and interests outside of music. Doing drumming workshops with Big Bang Drumming for schools, businesses and festivals.
Fun facts or quirky details about them. I come from a family of drummers. We generally like to hit things!! The only people who call me Paul are my parents, a few others and Mark!!!
Meet Joe
Joe Sheehan, Clonmel
Role in the band … Vocalist, Rhythm guitar, piano
When did you start playing music? I started singing at 5 years old and started playing the guitar when I was 10!
What Instruments do you play? I play guitar, piano and bass!
What are your musical influences? John Mayer, Fleetwood Mac, Eagles, Queen
How did you join the band? We had formed a smaller pub band and it was Joe’s idea to form a tribute band from it.
Meet Darragh
Darragh Johnson, Clonmel. Role in the band … Aux keys, rhythm guitar, lead and backing vocals.
When did you start playing music? Around age 7, I started taking piano lessons and playing the flute in my school band.
What Instruments do you play? I play Guitar, Piano, Flute, and Saxophone.
What are your musical influences? The Eagles, Led Zeppelin, Paul Simon, Pearl Jam, Stevie Wonder.
Artists or bands that inspire you? My Dad,John Bonham,Dave Abbruzzese.
Are there any specific artists or bands that inspire your style? I would say that Springsteen definitely inspires a lot. His early music in particular.
How did you join the band? I was asked to come in on guitar and keys when the lads had decided to expand to the Eagles tribute from their four-piece.
Previous musical projects or bands you were part of? I’m a member of a band called Code of Behaviour in which I play the saxophone.
Highlight any notable live performances or concerts. laying stages at Electric Picnic and the Jazz festival in Cork would be notable. Also a member of the chorus for Irish National Opera’s production of Carmen (2022) in the Bord Gais Energy Theatre.
Are there any specific achievements or milestones in your musical career? Getting a Bachelor of Music (BMus) degree in music would be significant for me. Branching out into repairing flutes was another significant milestone.
Hobbies and interests outside of music. Big into history. Doing a masters in history in UCD at the moment.
Meet Alan
Alan McCormack, Clonmel. Role in the band … Bassist
When did you start playing music? I started in St. Peter & Paul’s School Band in 2nd class (1997)
What Instruments do you play? I play Bass Guitar, Trombone and Euphonium
What are your musical influences? I’ve always liked a wide variety of music. Stevie Wonder would have been up there and I chose to play his music for my final year performance for my Music Degree in UCC.
How did you join the band? We had formed a smaller pub band and it was Joe’s idea to form a tribute band from it.
Previous musical projects or bands you were part of? The Pearly Whites. I’ve also performed with King Kong Company and played bass in the pit for several musicals. Highlight any notable live performances or concerts. The Bord Gais with The Pearly Whites. Electric Picnic Mainstage with King Kong Company. Aras an Uachtarain for The President with The Pearly Whites.
Hobbies and interests outside of music. Horse Riding, Scuba Diving & Javelin throwing.
Fun facts or quirky details about them. I also work as a Lighting Designer mainly designing lights for musicals. I won a couple of awards for this.
Meet Brendan
Brendan Hickey , Clonmel
Brendan is a professional guitarist, session musician and tutor. A seasoned musician with over 20 years of experience in the Irish music industry. Hailing from Waterford, Brendan has toured extensively playing some of the biggest venues and festivals across Ireland such as The Aviva Stadium, Electric Picnic, The Guinness Cork International Jazz Festival, The Dubai Duty Free Irish Open, The 6 Nations Rugby Fixtures and The Bórd Gais Energy Theatre.
Through session work, Brendan has played on various albums, TV projects and live radio performances.
Working with some of Ireland's most sought after bands and acts he has supported big name artists such as Fatboy Slim and Janelle Monáe.
Brendan Holds a B.A. Honours Music Degree from WIT (now SETU) specialising in Jazz guitar. His studies have influenced his musical style and given him a wide pallet of musical styles to call upon when performing. Favourite artists include Eagles, Pink Floyd, Prince, The Olllam and Guthrie Govan to name a few.
Brendan has been impersonating Joe Walsh with Life in The Fast Lane since its inception performing lead Vocal and Guitar duties.
Outside of music Brendan enjoys sea swimming and hiking.
